Participating Medicare Provider
Kneip Chiropractic is proud to be a participating Medicare Part B chiropractor in Le Mars, IA. We believe that seniors deserve access to high-quality, pain-relieving chiropractic care to maintain their mobility and independence. We are here to help you understand exactly what your benefits cover.
Understanding Your Medicare Chiropractic Benefits
Medicare coverage for chiropractic services is very specific. Medicare Part B covers manual manipulation of the spine if it is medically necessary to correct a subluxation (when one or more of the bones of your spine move out of position).
Our experienced staff will clearly explain your coverage, handle the billing, and ensure you receive the care you need without any surprise bills. We also coordinate with your secondary or supplemental insurance to minimize your out-of-pocket costs.
What Medicare Covers
Medicare Part B covers active treatment plans designed to improve your condition. If you have an acute injury or a chronic condition that is actively flaring up, Medicare will cover the spinal adjustments needed to correct the subluxation and relieve your pain.
What Medicare Does Not Cover
Medicare does not cover initial examinations, x-rays, massage therapy, physical therapy modalities, or "maintenance care" (care that seeks to prevent disease, promote health, or maintain a chronic condition without further improvement).
Secondary/Supplemental Insurance
If you have a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan, it will typically cover the 20% coinsurance that Medicare Part B does not cover for your adjustments. We will submit claims to both your primary Medicare and secondary insurance.
Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN)
For services that Medicare does not cover (like your initial exam or maintenance adjustments), we will provide you with an ABN before providing the service. This ensures complete transparency about your out-of-pocket costs.
